A few years ago I was contacted by the U.S. Postal Service. They were looking for photos of Art Deco mailboxes with eagles. Most of the mailboxes I’d photographed had other things, like speeding aeroplanes and even fish, but not many eagles.

The post office did release a stamp with an Art Deco styled eagle but it wasn't very exciting. If one looks far enough, there are some beautiful Deco stamps and they make for an interesting area of collecting since they aren’t very expensive.

Annother area receiving little attention is souvenir stamps. Many were quite nice, if small, works of art.
